催化燃燒設備在工作時先將有機廢氣用活性炭吸附，當活性炭達到吸附飽和時停止吸附操作，然后在80~120℃的溫度范圍內(nèi)使活性炭發(fā)生脫附。

脫附下來的有機物濃度較原來提高幾十倍并送入催化燃燒室進行催化燃燒反應，在貴金屬催化劑表面于200~350℃條件下進行催化氧化反應，使其轉化為無害的CO2和H2O。
